Jon Stewart is a goof

Stewart, like many mush-heads nowadays, believes that President Truman is a war criminal for dropping the atom bomb on Japan in World War 2. Bill Whittle at Pajamas Media has filmed a spirited and factual defense of Truman and America in wartime. It’s 16 minutes long but well worth your time.

I very rarely watch the Daily Show, but I loaded one up on Hulu the other day and it started with John Stewart apologizing for joking about Truman being a war criminal (I never did see the original statement.) He made it out to be one of those “spoken without thinking” comments and, to me, he sounded sincere when he said that he didn’t actually think that.
Thanks for the update
The question was posed in a heated discussion about waterboarding, and it does appear Stewart was reacting to the guest he was arguing with. I agree an off-the-cuff remark is not anything to crucify the guy over. At the same time Stewart is a funnyman who is paid to ridicule people on a daily basis. He’s supposedly soooo funny and smart but what I see is selective editing of interview footage, smirking, and a good haircut.
And it’s also possible his boss had a few words with him..
